0XC0000005-ACCESS_VIOLATION = "NO JOKE"!!

Post by PaddieMayne »

As a few of you might know this issue is becoming a right old pain in the proverbial, its actually got to the point now where I can not take part in any game night on server 1 or 2 if there's any kind of server population.

Firstly a bit of a background..
This problem only and I mean only occurs on the ZEUS community servers be it 1 or 2.
I can play on any other Arma3server be it empty, half full or very nearly full with out any kind of issue, this can be modded or vanilla servers. I can not even get in to No1 server if I launch just Vanilla Arma3.
Stacy and myself with a little help from others were able to establish that I can get onto our servers if there is little or no population and as I proved again today on server 2 when I joined with just 2 others already there, I then managed to stay on server 2 all day and play all day even when 10 to 20 people joined after me.
The problem occurs regardless if I launch 32 or 64bit.

It the same error report every time, accompanied by a crash to desktop and I've done everything it asks you too on wiki to solve the issue all to know avail.

"0xC0000005 - ACCESS_VIOLATION
This error is very generic. It may be caused by many issues, such as a hardware malfunction, a virus in the computer, but also an error in the game itself. Possible solutions:
Try joining another server, then rejoin the previous one.
Update the graphics card drivers to a newer version.
Rollback the graphics card drivers to an older version.
Check the temperature of your GPUs and CPUs.
Verify the integrity of the game cache using Steam.
Re-install DirectX.
Uninstall the Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package (both x86 and x64 version), restart your computer and install the package again (do not use the Repair function).
Run a Windows System File Check tool to repair corrupted system files."

I have had a look at the rpt file but can make no sense of it as I'm know expert, if anybody would like too take a look please ask me to send it too them, anyway here are the last few lines....

Just as a foot note I build my own PC systems so do have a little knowledge although this is mainly hardware based, any input or questions regarding my system will be answered a bit of which is on here...

Ok so i know you or someone else has definitely probably already seen this page but if not, it might be looking into the issues listed on here to troublpe shoot the problem. I cant open it right but i believe it could be the spam issue where you AV or firewall is blocking you from other users on the server. But then again im pretty new at being ok at computer stuff so this might be absolutely wrong. Ill keep looking for yall though cause its just a dumb problem and it bothers me even though it shouldn't at all.

Yes ive considered that it could be the hardware based firewall (I don't run a software based firewall on my pc) in my router blocking communication with others but the one thing that discounts this is that then it would effect me on all Arma3 servers and not just Zeus Community servers. The same with any AV software issue.

Do you have a second computer to try and join just to see if its a problem with your modem or isp?

If it was modem or isp then it would apply across all Arma3 servers etc etc

Could try the latest 1.68 performance build, usually lots of crash causes fixed.

- Right click on Arma 3 in your Steam Library, then Properties
- Select the tab BETAS
- Enter the code CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3 then click CHECK CODE
- Finally, still in this BETAS tab, use the dropdown list to select the branch profiling - Performance Profiling Build

On the modem/isp thing it couldnt hurt to be sure that that isnt the issue, you never know it could just hate some specific ip. Also if it were to work on another computer you could look into the hardware and software on the one that works and compair it to the one that doesn't. Or just try 26's solution cause he is smarter than me.
