Taunus Testing Interest
Okay, I am now starting to look at new Terrain to put into the pack, some of which i need to test in a dedicated environment for performance purposes for both the clients and the server. The first up on this list is the X-Cam Taunus map.

Now Taunus was released before 64-bit and was intended by its creators to be a push of what the engine could do, they wanted to create an art piece more than a playable ArmA map. There are areas that are so dense with objects it caused memory leaks, much in the way Tanoa used to for a lot of people. Since 64-bit however, it has become much more stable now like Tanoa there are large urban areas that can get a bit framey, but these are the things i am looking to get more information on.
The map itself is 20km x 20km of high fidelity German countryside there are a plethora of places for missions to take place, if there are a few problem areas that consistently cause crashes for people then there is the potential for those to be avoided, there is enough real estate to work around that in my opinion.
The purpose of this post it to see who is interested in helping me test this. Once i have garnered numbers, a few missions will be made for the map and on a date to be set we will play those missions in the same way we would play a gamenight. If you are interested simply reply with a +1 to this thread. There is a download link in the forum post, it is also present on the workshop, it is however very large for a map at over 1GB and this will be taken into consideration when decisions are to be made.
Regards,
Ben.
